Lighting design consultancy, Riyadh

Drawings you can build from and numbers you can defend in a design review.

Concept studies, photometric calculations, lux-level verification and complete fixture schedules, produced alongside architects, lighting consultants and electrical engineers. We work in the consultant's format and to the project's own specification, so submittals clear review instead of bouncing back.

In more detail

A lighting design is only worth what it can be defended with. Ours goes out as a set: the concept that says what the space should feel like, the calculation that proves it hits the lux level and the uniformity the brief asked for, and the schedule that names every fitting, its wattage, its beam and its control address. A consultant can mark it up. A contractor can build from it. A client can hold us to it.

We work in the consultant's own format and to the project's specification rather than to ours, which is the difference between a submittal that clears review and one that comes back with comments three times. Where the specified fitting is unavailable, unaffordable or simply wrong for the room, the alternative arrives with the photometrics attached rather than as a name in an email.

How we do it

The four things that decide the outcome

01

Concept and mood studies

What the space should feel like at nine in the morning and at nine at night, argued in references and sketch renders before a single fitting is named. Cheap to change at this stage and expensive to change at any other.

02

Photometric calculation and verification

Room-by-room calculation against the target maintained illuminance, uniformity, glare rating and colour rendering the brief or the code sets. The output is a document, not an opinion, and that is what a design review is there to test.

03

Fixture schedules and submittal packs

Every fitting with its type mark, photometric file, wattage, optic, finish, IP rating, driver and control protocol, assembled in the format the consultant issues in so it can be checked line against line.

04

Value engineering that keeps the scheme

When the budget moves, alternatives come with the calculation re-run rather than with a promise. Some savings cost nothing visible; some quietly cost the design. We tell you which is which before you sign.

Questions we are asked

Before you specify lighting design

Do you offer lighting design consultancy in Riyadh?

Yes. ARAK's Riyadh team takes a lighting design from concept to tender: concept and mood studies, photometric calculations that verify lux level, uniformity, glare (UGR) and colour rendering (Ra) space by space, and complete fixture schedules and submittal packs. ARAK has delivered lighting projects across the Kingdom since 1976.

What does a lighting design package include?

Three things that hold each other up: the concept that says what each space should feel like, the calculation that proves it reaches the lux level and uniformity the brief asks for, and a schedule that names every fitting with its type mark, photometric file, wattage, optic, finish, IP rating, driver and control protocol.

Do you work to our consultant's format and specification?

Yes. We work alongside architects, lighting consultants and electrical engineers, in the consultant's own format and to the project's specification rather than ours, so submittals are written to clear review the first time.

What if the specified fitting is unavailable or over budget?

We propose an alternative with the photometric calculation re-run, not as a name in an email. When the budget moves, we say which savings cost nothing visible and which would quietly change the design, before you sign.

Can ARAK also supply, install and control what it designs?

Yes. ARAK supplies fittings from more than 40 partner brands, installs and commissions them, and can bring the whole scheme onto a KNX lighting control system, so one team carries the design through to handover.

Tell us what the space has to do.

Send drawings, a fixture schedule, or just the brief. Our Riyadh team will come back with a lighting study and a quotation.
